WHY PRESERVATIVES WORK

Sodium Benzoate, a common preservative in foods depletes the cells of the food of oxygen. Thus slowing the decay of the food. When we consume this preservative the same action takes place in our cells. All cellular function is dependent on oxygen. When the cells are deprived of oxygen they break down , malfunction, mutate and die. Neurological diseases such as Lou Gehrig's disease are  thought to be linked in this way. It has been found that when the mitochondria of the cell is deprived of oxygen the DNA mutates.
